Saint Frances Cabrini
In 1952, St. Frances Cabrini Parish and School were commissioned by Archbishop Thomas A. Connolly and dedicated to the memory of the first American Saint, Mother Frances Xavier Cabrini.
Under the leadership of Fr. Andrew J. Squier, the construction of the new church and school began immediately. By late September of 1953, St. Frances Cabrini School opened her doors providing Catholic education to nearly 300 students, taught by six Holy Names Sisters who lived in the Cabrini Convent. At one time, it was the third largest Catholic school in the archdiocese.
