In 1891, Father William Eversmann, O.S.B. was sent to Tacoma from the Benedictine Monastery of St. John, Colleville, MN. to begin Holy Rosary Parish. He was soon joined by Sisters of St. Benedict from St. Joseph, MN to staff the first parochial school in Tacoma.

Although no longer a Benedictine parish, Holy Rosary maintains their proud academic tradition.
